From July 15th to 17th Queen Genetics joined Greenex International for the Cultivate’18 trade fair in Columbus, Ohio to present the latest Kalanchoe and Succulent assortment to Growers from the United States and Canada.

The introduction of 5 new, exclusive succulent varieties, was rewarded with a lot of attention and positive feedback from visitors. Especially the new  Echeveria agavoides ’Romeo' seemed to have struck a nerve with both growers and professional buyers. The little 2” HOT STUFF cups where so popular that one even got stolen after hours and people stopped to take funny pictures for their social media accounts.

Another highlight has been the way cuttings are packaged in Turkey since buyers are often used to receive their cuttings in bags. The box solution offers a more structured and organised approach, where cuttings are kept healthy throughout the delivery when shipped all over the world.

The Kalanchoe display stood out for its bright, intense colours and unique flowers. Due to the high level of Ethylene exposure during transport and the building up phase Queen Genetics Kalanchoe varieties had an excellent opportunity to prove themselves.

Visitors were particularly excited about the new bi-coloured ElseFlowers™ assortment. Without a doubt, the ElseFlowers™ variety Robbie has been the favourite most visitors and growers already look forward to testing it during the next Halloween season.
